Overview:
Provide major retailer a centralized repository for maintenance of SKU data. This includes the creation of new items, replacement of existing items, ability to re-package items into new assortments. The application needs to be web based and be accessible by both internal and external users.

Solutions:
This was a web-based application built on J2EE architecture. The solution integrated with mainframe DB2 on MVS and used IBM MQ series to process transactions. The solution solved multiple supplier problems and created a centralized interface to the retailers business partners. The solution was scalable to handle the peak loads during high volume sales cycles like Christmas and back to school time.

Business Results:
The system allowed the retailer to have better control over their item process and also gave their business partners the ability to be more integrated in the supply chain. This provided huge productivity gains and cost savings. The new systems allows for real-time updates and more accurate data related to item information.
